Mike Duffy D.C., C.C.E.P. MEd.
Dr. Mike Duffy is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he received a bachelor degree in economics and a Masters degree in Health Education. He earned his doctoral degree at Life University in Georgia. Since graduation he has earned three separate post doctoral certifications. The C.C.E.P. (Certified Chiropractic Extremities Practitioner) is training in the correction and rehabilitation of all joints not in the spine. Dr. Duffy is certified in the ART or active release soft tissue technique. This is a patented very specialized process to help muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia heal correctly. He is also certified in the Graston instrument assisted soft tissue technique, utilizing the latest technology using instruments to help the body heal. For three years prior to working as a chiropractor, he was a personal trainer with Health and Sports Works, furthering his knowledge in exercise and rehabilitation. Since returning to Charlotte, Dr. Duffy has been active with the community. He is the official chiropractor to all athletic teams of his alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He works with the basketball, track, volleyball, soccer teams. He worked with Charlotte's former arena football team, The Cobras. Since joining the team at Greenapple Sports and Wellness he has worked with players from the Panthers, Checkers, Sting, Eagles, US Army Golden Knights and numerous local high school athletes. He has been a treating physician for the Ironman competition. Within the community he has lectured to the Team in Training participants on injury prevention and placed second in the Leukemia Society's Man of the year contest For a year and a half he hosted a segment on News 14 called "Dr. Duffy Your Sports Doctor."
Each week he reviewed injury prevention and correction techniques for all sports. He is a published author contributing to local and national publications, and has been on the air with Mike Collins. Although Dr. Duffy is an avid cyclist, he understands not everyone wants to be an elite athlete and works with all family members. His job is described as "helping everybody else do what they want to do."
